What is THE Impact Rankings?
The Impact Rankings are a ranking of universities by degree of contribution to sustainability as announced by Times Higher Education, a higher-education trade journal published in the United Kingdom. For each of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), each university is evaluated and ranked in four categories: research, management responsibility, outreach and education.
Each university’s ranking is assigned by calculating the score for each SDG and totaling the scores for SDG 17 and the university’s top three of the remaining 16 SDGs. Worldwide, 1,591 universities were ranked in THE Impact Ranking 2023.
