Museum design: for a curiosity-driven society
Useful science for society and practical research for innovation are essential for effectively using limited social resources. However, research that is driven purely by curiosity—simply wanting to uncover something—is equally important. Rather than a society where everything, even in elementary and secondary education, is judged by its usefulness to the community or region, I want to explore a model where curiosity takes center stage. I am focused on how we can better engage with children’s curiosity and create a society where they can act freely from that curiosity. I see museums as places where children can express their strange feelings or awareness as questions and continue exploring them. My research aims to maximize this potential of museums by developing new exhibition methods and communication designs.
