Toward a healthy society for all

Medicine has usually prioritized high-risk patient groups when selecting treatment targets. However, treatment effects and side effects vary across individuals, and high-risk groups do not necessarily correlate with high treatment benefit. To address this, I have introduced a new strategy called the “high-benefit approach,” which uses AI models to estimate individual treatment benefits, targeting groups with high potential benefits rather than high risk. This approach optimizes resource allocation, reduces health disparities, and contributes to achieving true personalized medicine for each patient, potentially marking a historic turning point in the evolution of healthcare.
