Developmental traits: understanding and inclusivity
With society’s growing recognition of individual diversity, the presence of people with neurodevelopmental disorders—commonly referred to as developmental disorders—has become more widely known. Currently, care settings focus on early detection and early support, but in the future, hopefully we will move toward a society that embraces and includes individuals based on a deep understanding of their developmental characteristics, rather than discriminating. Cooperation across various fields such as healthcare, welfare, and education is essential for children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders to grow up healthy in both mind and body and adapt to society. However, evidence to support such cooperation remains insufficient. From a medical perspective, I aim to elucidate the impact of cross-disciplinary collaboration on the environments surrounding these children.
