Toward sustainable energy development
Graduate School of Engineering
The increasing world population and energy demands require us to develop new resource extraction and power generation methods with low CO2 emissions. Like using an X-ray CT scan to examine the human body, we can investigate underground structures by analyzing wave properties that pass through the earth crust. I am trying to clarify the relationship between subsurface structures and wave characteristics by analyzing waves artificially transmitted through rock samples in the laboratory, field observation records, and natural earthquake records. My research aims to develop low-environmental-impact resource exploration and power generation methods. I would like to contribute to the formation and growth of a sustainable society.
