Just resourcing of our zero emissions future
To address climate change, we need to reduce the use of CO₂-emitting fossil fuel technologies and transition to clean options. It is equally crucial to ensure that people worldwide can access enough clean energy to meet their needs. This effort must be carried out in ways that protect the environment and human health, with equitable sharing of burdens and benefits. My research evaluates the social, economic, and environmental impacts of transitioning to low-carbon technologies like renewable energy and hydrogen fuel cells. By considering the entire supply chain—from mining and processing necessary minerals to their use—I aim to clarify how this shift affects nature and people. Furthermore, by exploring ways to distribute resources fairly, I aim to contribute to sustainable development for all countries.
