Long-term support for survivors beyond cancer treatment
Remarkable advances in multidisciplinary cancer treatment have improved the prognosis for patients with brain tumors. However, survival brings new difficulties. Many patients and their families must navigate life with physical sequelae or invisible impairments (neuropsychological complications), making it difficult for both to return to their former selves. Yet, long-term support remains insufficient in today’s society. As an occupational therapist, I aim to build a system of cooperation that connects the medical field with social life, ensuring continuous support. Additionally, as an educator and childhood cancer survivor, I seek to disseminate accurate knowledge, enhance peer support, and create a society where support is tailored to meet the specific needs of every life stage.
