Surgery friendly for patients and surgeons
Medicine and technology continue to advance rapidly, and the number of patients whose lives are saved through surgical treatments, such as for cancer, is increasing, with further advancements hopefully awaiting in the future. In this context, we must also consider the sustainability of surgical care, which has so far depended heavily on surgeonsʼ experience and personal sacrifice. I have been researching a technique called real-time navigation that accurately tracks the deformation and movement of organs during surgery to support precise resections and treatments. Moving forward, I aim to expand this technology globally, creating a society where surgery is effective and safe for patients and precise and comfortable for the next generation of surgeons. By integrating and applying medicine and technology, I will pioneer a new type of surgery that is friendly to both patients and future surgeons.
